For Alabama dealerships, Autosoft integrates with the Alabama Title System (ALTS). This system has replaced the AL ETAPS integration dealerships have used to submit electronic title applications in the past. Before you can submit applications, you need to ensure your dealership is set up with the Alabama Title System (ALTS) and that the necessary information is set up in Autosoft Sales and F&I.
Migrating from ETAPS to ALTS
If you used Alabama ETAPS in the past, you must first migrate your dealership from ETAPS to ALTS before you can begin using the ALTS service. Please reference instructions for this process here: https://www.support.revenue.alabama.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115013782888-ETAPS-to-ALTS-Migration-Process
Requesting Tokens from Alabama MVTRIP
In order to set up your ALTS integration in Autosoft, you will need to access the Alabama Department of Revenue Website and request an Access Token and a Refresh Token. You need to add the tokens to the setup screen in Autosoft. You can access documentation for how to request tokens using the link below. The instructions provide steps for how to copy the tokens so you can paste the values into the setup screen in your Autosoft system.
If you don’t know your credentials or have issues with your password, please call Alabama’s Motor Vehicles Division at 337.242.9000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adding Setup Information for ALTS in Autosoft
Before you can begin using the ALTS integration, you must enter your MVTRIP credentials in the ALTS setup pop-up. To do this, follow these steps:
Step 1. Click the Setup button in the blue navigation bar. The System page of Setup opens.
Step 2. Click the Integrations tab below the Dealership Summary Card. The Dealership Integrations list opens, displaying all the third-party integrations set up for your dealership.
Step 3. Search for or scroll through the Dealership Integrations list to find "ALTS (new)." Click ALTS (new) to open its quick-look card and click Edit Integration.
Step 4. The Connection modal for ALTS opens.
Step 5. In the Client ID field, enter the ID provided by Alabama MVTRIP. The ID must include the extension following an underscore at the end of the ID. For example, if the extension is 1043, the Client ID would look like the following sample ID: ADMIN_50_05015-00_1043.
Step 6. In the Client Secret field, enter the access code provided by Alabama MVTRIP. This code is used to validate your dealership when you request a new Access Token.
Step 7. In the Access Token field, enter or paste the Access Token you requested from Alabama MVTRIP. If you haven’t requested these tokens, you can do so using the following instructions. Click here to access the documentation for obtaining tokens from Alabama MVTRIP.
Step 8. In the Refresh Token field, enter or paste the Refresh Token you requested from Alabama MVTRIP. If you haven’t requested these tokens, you can do so using the following instructions. Click here to access the documentation for obtaining tokens from Alabama MVTRIP.
Step 9. Click on Save and Close.
