Setting Up Commissions

The Setup application allows users with the appropriate permissions to establish defaults for the salesperson, sales manager, and finance manager commissioning applied to deals. You can establish commission percentages and minimums for front and back-end options, as well as reserve. 

Step 1. Click on the Setup app button in the main navigation bar. The Setup app will open to the Dealership Information page.

Step 2. Click the Sales button from the horizontal button bar running across the top of the screen. The Sales options drop-down menu will open.

Step 3. Select Commissioning from the Sales options menu. The Commissioning setup screen will open. 

Step 4. In the Front Gross card, use the Include Advertising, Include Dealer Charges, Include Holdback, and Include Pack toggles to determine if these items will be included in deals' front gross calculations. If you want these items to be included in any of the commission calculations below, you must activate them here by clicking the toggle to the right so that the background is blue. 

Step 5. In the Salesperson Commission card, enter the percentage salespeople will receive of a sale's Front End, Back End, and Reserve totals. Use the Front End Minimum, Back End Minimum, and Reserve Minimum fields to type the minimum dollar amount a salesperson will receive on any sale. You can also determine if advertising, dealer charges, holdback, and pack are included in the calculation using the respective toggles in the card. 

Step 6. To create commission defaults for sales managers, repeat Step 5 in the Sales Manager Commission and Account card. This card also includes Debit and Credit fields, where you can click the respective options buttons to open drop-down menus and select the appropriate ancillary accounts used to post commissions to the books in the Autosoft DMS Accounting module. 

Step 7. To create commission defaults for finance managers, repeat Step 5 in the Finance Manager and Account card. This card also includes Debit and Credit fields, where you can click the respective options buttons to open drop-down menus and select the appropriate ancillary accounts used to post commissions to the books in the Autosoft DMS Accounting module. 

Step 8. Click Save. A green "Success" message will verify that the changes have been saved, and the settings will take effect for all deals started after the changes were made.
