Resetting an Employee's Password

Note:  Only users with administrative rights can initiate the password reset for another employee. However, individual employees can reset their own passwords. See the Setup Knowledge Base article, "Resetting Your Password," for complete details.

Employees can set and reset their own passwords; however, a system administrator can also initiate the password reset process. To do so, follow these step:

Step 1. Click the Setup Application button in the left navigation panel. The Dealership Information screen will open.


Step 2. Click the Employees button in the top button bar of the Dealership Information screen. The Employee Search screen will open. 

Step 3. Type the employee's full or partial name into the Search field and click Search or simply scroll to find the employee whose password you want to reset.

Step 4. Click the View icon on the far right of the employee's line in the search results to open their employee record.

Step 5. The employee record will open to the Detail screen. Click the Account button in the horizontal button bar under the Employee Summary card. The Account Options page of the record will open.

Step 6. Click the Reset Password button in the upper-right corner of the Account Options page. 

Step 7. A pop-up will open notifying you that an email has been sent to the employee's email address with instructions for resetting their password. Click OK to acknowledge the message. The employee can now use the email they receive to reset their system password.
