Adding Trade Vehicle Images from the Trade Vehicle Pop-Up

Autosoft -

While building a deal and adding a trade vehicle, you can document all the vehicle details you need to with photos. These photos may assist when performing appraisals for trade offers and resale pricing. Any photos you add through the trade vehicle modal will follow the vehicle record through your system (from customer/trade vehicle to inventory vehicle). The photos will be labeled "Trade" and will be dated with the date you added the images to the deal/vehicle record.

Any vehicle photos you add to the vehicle record once the vehicle is part of your dealership inventory will be added to the Gallery Images portion of the pop-up that opens when you click the Image Management Icon below a vehicle image in the vehicle summary card; these images are sharable via third-party internet syndication, while any photos taken before the vehicle was added to inventory will remain in the record as a resource. However, you can drag an image from the image history to the Gallery Images section to add the image to photos used for digital merchandising.

To add trade vehicle images while working a deal:

Step 1. Build a deal in the Sale application or open an existing "Working" deal. Click the Trade button below the Deal Summary Card. The Trade page of the deal opens.

Step 2. Click Add Trade or double-click an existing trade vehicle listed in the Trades card of the Trade page. For a new trade, the Trade Vehicle modal opens with an automatically generated Stock Number. For an existing trade, the pop-up displays all information entered for the trade vehicle.

Step 3. When adding a new trade, use the Buyer's Vehicles drop-down menu to select a vehicle associated with the buyer or type the trade vehicle's VIN and click Decode. The VIN explosion uses the details associated with the VIN to populate the fields in the pop-up. You can manually enter any information that wasn't provided by the VIN explosion.

Step 4. Click Upload Images at the top of the pop-up to open the vehicle images pop-up. Here you can either drag and drop the vehicle images or use the Upload button to select the images from your files.

To drag and drop vehicle images, navigate to the folder on your computer containing the images for the vehicle. Open the folder. Highlight the images you want to upload to the vehicle record and drag them into the drag-and-drop window. You can drag one image at a time or highlight multiple images and then drag from one of the highlighted images.

To upload images, click the Upload button on the pop-up. This opens your File Explorer window or Open dialogue, where you can navigate to the folder in which your vehicle images are stored. Click to select the image you want to upload or highlight multiple images. Click Open.

Note:  You can select multiple images for drag-and-drop or upload in a variety of ways. If the images are located side by side, you can click on an image, hold, and drag to the left or right of the image to select additional images. A transparent blue box surrounds the photos as you drag the mouse over them. When you release the mouse, the images are selected. You can also select multiple images by pressing and holding the CTRL key on your keyboard while clicking on images with your mouse.

Step 5. The selected images appear in the drag-and-drop window. The first image in the window is marked as the Featured Image and appears on the Vehicle Summary Card. If you wish to change the featured image, simply click on a different image in the window and drag and drop it to the left of the current featured image.

The other images are numbered in the order in which they will appear in the photo array. You can also rearrange those images by dragging them to the left or right and dropping them into the position you wish.

Step 6. When you're happy with the order of the images, click Close to close the pop-up. The featured image appears in the trade vehicle's quick-look card and Vehicle Summary Card on its record.

When you open the vehicle record for the trade vehicle, the images you've added are grouped at the bottom of the Image Management pop-up.
